Please tell me that someone will running against "double dip government jobs" Mayor Rick in the upcoming election.Mogadore is looking a like a ghost town.Empty buildings and a "grounds keeper" who doesn't know what weeds look like. The welcome to Mogadore signs coming into the village are a great example. No money in the flower fund?

  5. I have suggestion for this blog...be nice. Support your candidate with proven and verifiable facts. I have stated before this blog did not help some of the "new" candidates last time. If it turns ugly again, the results will probably be the same. So if you want change in our leadership the negative remarks need to stop.

  18. Rubbermaid to close Greenville, Texas plant and move production to Mogadore plant

    ReplyDelete
  19. God, doesn't anybody have a comment on the Rubbermaid issue? If you don't, you're making a huge mistake for our community. You can forget about the nice quiet little town with little traffic. It'll be replaced by grid locked streets full of semi-tractor-trailers, full of noise and polllution. Not to mention, the devastating effect on property values.
Our leaders are throwing us under the bus for tax monies.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Jobs and tax revenues benefit the WHOLE community, including residents and other businesses. We already have plants in town and trucks are not a problem. Trucks would go north to 76, just like all the fuel trucks used to from the Shell Oil site across from the golf course. Property values would NOT decrease. If you like high property (school taxes), go ahead and get rid of the businesses. Next, Mogadore will become an impoverished community, like "CrAkron!"

    ReplyDelete
  21. Did the council really decide not to rezone the property or did Rubbermaid just decide not to move here. The story on this site states that the Akron Beacon Journal story stated that the council would not agree to rezone the property but the story I saw did not say that. Which is true?

    ReplyDelete
  22. "In Mogadore, Newell Rubbermaid via InSite Realty had asked that the former golf course be rezoned from residential use to industrial use. In an interview earlier this month, West’s Mogadore Country Club owner Eric West confirmed that he had a memorandum of understanding to sell his family’s property to Newell Rubbermaid if the rezoning were approved."

Nothing says "council." It says officials. If the land had been rezoned, Rubbermaid would have purchased it. Since the land was NOT rezoned, Rubbermaid withdrew their request.

Tallmadge and Brimfield already approved rezoning in December. Why were they able to get their site rezoned so quickly and Mogadore was not? Since Rubbermaid is trying to move forward quickly, they cannot risk a delay in rezoning or bureaucratic red tape in Mogadore.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Thanks Mogadore Council.Again you have shown your ignorance.Try to pass another levy and I will not "rezone it".

    ReplyDelete
  24. I don't know what to believe anymore. Rubbermaid originally said they were considering two sites. Mogadore and Brimfield. They said they hadn't committed to either site. I just want to know if the council decided not to rezone ahead of the Feb. 9th deadline or if Rubbermaid just decided to go with Brimfield. I guess we won't ever know for sure.

    1. I think the reason is that they don't want competition for the food offered at the cafeteria. If you want to bring in something from a restaurant, just take it out of the restaurant packaging and wrap it in your own foil or baggie from home. They can't stop your child from eating leftovers or other food from home.

  38. Parents of O.H.Somers Elementary... Does your school system have a mechanism in place to assure you that one of your childrens' teachers had no knowledge nor complicity in actions of her husband who has just pled guilty to 2nd degree felony attempted rape of a 9 year old girl? Mindy Smith is the teacher of your children and wife of this man, Tim Smith. The principal Langely hung up on me when I posed this question to her. I have contacted the superintendent and some board members on an anonymous level. I find it necessary to get this information out to you so that you can make your own inquiries.

    1. I am a parent of OH Somers Elementary. I don't know who you are but if you are concerned about the safety of our children I really don't feel you would have posted this statement anonymously as you have or you would have given this community more information on the very slanderous comment that you have made. Mrs. Smith, who was born and raised in our community and continues to give should not have to endure this and I feel that the moderator of the blog should remove this unless this person would like to back their statement up factual information.

    5. The fact that Mrs Smith failed to immediately notify the community, her supervisors and the superintendent should speak volumes here. The arrest occurred in March and six months passed before this came to light? The superintendent and board need to pose the question of Mrs. Smith's continued employment openly to the community. Do we want someone married to an attempted child rapist to teach in the schools? Knowledge or not, there is a pattern of deceit here which needs tro be exposed. Anyone married to, working for or supporting a pedophile has no place near our kids! Who is contacting the media with all the public record information and letting the board can answer to news cameras...? Aren't there laws in place to deal with this? Teachers union have anything to say here???

  41. Seems that there has been some bullying going on in the high school and this is just not acceptable in Mogadore. One of the bullys came from another school district and perhaps maybe they should leave this community if they can't act like a human being. What is even more upsetting is the fact that the high school assistant coach was part of the bullying against one of the students during football season. Just because he is a Murphy doesn't mean he can do these things. I am really ashamed of such people in this community to act like inmature children. Watch out Bullys because these kids that you are bullying just might turn around and open up a can of whoop ass on you.

Bullying in Mogadore is nothing new!! Football coaches (God's in Mogadore) have been involved in inappropriate behavior, rumors, poor behavior for years and nothing ever happens to them so get over it Mogadore....All has been accepted behavior forever so why complain now? Funny how we want to point out the bully was from "another school district". Most bullies in Mogadore came from Mogadore!!!!! No tolerance is a joke!!

    3. Agree with above post, amen to the bullies coming from Mogadore. It is born and bred into them just like football is. Not only do the parents act inappropriately, the teachers/coaches, etc. do the same. Great attributes to show young people. Mogadore quit picking on those from outside of Mogadore. Look around your town....then look at your kids....and finally, look in the mirror!!

  42. Mindy Smith's husband is in Lorain Correctional with a plea deal to felony 2 attempted rape instead of felony 1 attempted rape of a minor. Has anyone in this town asked this k-4 teacher what she knew about this situation at home and when she knew it? If and when this man gets out, is her profession and her relationship with him a perfect place to aid this man in his future endeavors? What has the school system done to remedy a situation that has possible bad news written all over it? The mogadore school system should expose this for what it is and act responsibly.

  46. I say NO more school levy's. If I lose income, I have to cut somewhere in the budget. Why doesn't the schools do that. They need to make cuts in teacher salaries. Check out Buckeye Institute.com and see what these teachers are making. It will make you sick. The levy is for teacher raises, but if it doesnt pass in Nov. they will say that we will cut bussing and the cafeterias. And have pay to play. So what, we pay for all youth sports why not high school. If the levy is for teachers and doesnt pass, they should cut teachers.

    ReplyDelete
  47. The salaries are out of control! Start with whomever is married to the child rapist and keep swinging the axe until we don't need a levy. These teachers work less than 200 days a year, less than eight hours a day and are milking the system for insane benefits the private sector can't even consider. Its time we put our foot down. Becoming rich by being a tacher has to stop. Go to medical school, start a business or create something. Those careers earn their salaries, teachers do not deserve 1/2 of what they are getting. These are public servants and chose their carrer, let them choose something else fi they want to retire with 80% salary!!!

    1. You are so right. Why are we hiring a band teacher with an MBA and have to pay them `$60,000 a year. Why not hire someone right out of college and only have to pay them $34,000 a year. So now we are in the hole even more. I know lets have the tax payers take care of it. Levy in Nov. I say hell no. Its time the school system stops asking for more money and starts to figure out how to make cuts of unnecessary staff. Like tutors, 2 secertaries at high school office, and a secertary for bus and maintance. Plus how many at the elementary and board office. Im sure there are alot of other positions that could be cut. Oh, but wait, a friend or family member probably got them the job. Lets start taking care of the students and not padding certain families wallets. (Lutz, Price, Pollocks) Families with more than one employee at Mogadore Local schools.

      Delete
    2. From what I understand these families have saved the school district 15,000 dollars each year for having only 1 benefit package per family. That's 45,000 a year for at least 15 years with 2 of the families, so all together it saved tax payers about a million dollars over the years. Makes pretty good use of tax payers money. Sounds like sour grapes to me.

    3. What the district needs to do is get rid of all the double-dippers, they retire and collect a full pension and get re-hired so the district doesn't have to pay benefits, there are quite a few currently, that are collecting a hefty pension along with a hefty salary from Mogadore Local Schools, taxpayers need to wake up and really check out buckeyeinstitute.org and you'll be sick to your stomach what some of these people are making.

  52. Why do we not get rid of the teacher that is married to a rapist??? We have to thank Ohio Law and Union regulations to protect her and not our students as she is tenured (the same way we kept a certain Music Director that drove our music program into the ground).

Additionally and according to public record (http://www.buckeyeinstitute.org/teacher-salary) we will keep paying her large salary and continue to give her raises.

    1. That is so funny, my daughter told me the same thing. Are the kitchen staff not able to make enough food for the children of this elementary? We are on the free lunch program and I am going to start packing my daughters lunch because this has happened to her several times this year so far and we're only a month into the school year, my daughter told me that she would have to wait for the lady to cook the hotdogs, and what she really wanted was the main part of what was on the menu, not a nasty hotdog. My daughter also said atleast if she got a hotdog in the years past, it was wrapped and the bun was soft, but this new girl slaps a hotdog on a hard bun and it's not wrapped like always before. Not sure whats going on there either, but it's little ol' Mogadore and we"ll be able to find out where the original kitchen help went. As far as the high school lady, not sure if she has cancer or who it is, but once again, it's Mogadore and someone will hopefully post something to update the people

As for the sick lady in high school cafeteria- I heard she is sick but I don't know what she has. She looks really bad. I feel bad that she still has to work. She has to be miserable.

Im concerned that she has access to our kids social security numbers and If you pay on the computer she has all of your banking info. So before you go calling people names, maybe you should look in the mirror and see who the hillbilly is.

I can't always afford to live high on the hog, but at least I still make sure my kids are fed. You probably get food stamps, so it's not like you are actually paying for what you pack. She has worked for your system for 7 years and no problem on her record at all. But I have a child at the elementary that I received a letter stating I owed over $15.00 for breakfast and lunch debits. Rules should be the same in our 2 building district. No debits at the high school, should mean no debits at the grade school. Who ever created this rule should be ashamed of themselves, not to feed any kid. I'm sure there is some kind of excuse that they would have saying it's parents responsibility to be held accountable for their kid. 2. They may not call names, but they are trying their best to ruin the life of a person who never did anything to them. You cant be held accountable for the crimes of another.

  56. We will be happy to stop "bullying" the staff when the pedophile supporting teacher is terminated. None of our kids teachers can be married to child rapists...it's that simple. One scumbag at a time needs to go. Lets prioritize those who support pedophiles and deal with lunch line employees next. Mudslinging and gossip is one thing. Court records and facts are something else. We have a 5th grade teacher married to a man who tried to rape a 9 year old girl - I guess "anonymous 8:41PM" is a pedophile supporter too! Why don't you post your name so we can all see who you are? Looks like supporting pedophiles is rampant in Mogadore and the list of names an home addresses needs to be posted for every to see. Better yet - it time to get the media involved and bring cameras onto the school property so we can clear the air once and for all.

Maybe everyone on here is wrong and that teacher is right. Her husband was "set up." After all, the same people who killed Kennedy and faked the moon landing could have pick him up in a captured alien spacecraft and taken him to a Richland county hotel (for a meeting he set up on the internet) to rape a 9 year old girl? Your right, we need to stop complaining because this is a real possibility. This just in - Bigfoot was seen having a snack behind subway in town this morning and the Lock Ness monster is in Wingfoot lake. Idiots....get a life and stop backing those who prey on children.

I don't know what happened with Anonymous 8:13 am., but our food was hot and tasted very good. 58. Your comment is bullshit about grandparents day lunch. The food was hot, tasted great and for once we were greeted by a friendly and competent cafeteria staff. We WERE NOT in years past. My grandchildren go to Mogadore schools and my family and extended family are also members of the community. I think it is refreshing that my elementary age grandchild doesn't come home from school anymore crying about the mean and nasty lunchladies of years past. She doesn't get paper towels in her macaroni and cheese anymore and if she brings in a dollar in quarters she is actually allowed to purchase an ice cream if she wants to. Last year the cashier told her "You cant buy ice cream if you don't have money. Quarters aren't money, you have to have actual paper money." Good for your grandchildren who have to pack their lunch. It's obviously because their parents and grandparents have poisoned their minds. And is very obvious that you are friends of the nasty, crochety old bitties that used to work in the elementary cafeteria. Well, they are obviously not there for a reason. Maybe you should look into their mysterious disappearance. Maybe you should inquire with the school board or Dr. Dinklocker for this information. I bet it would be enlightening. Furthermore, I have heard nothing but praise for said lunch staff and their food. It's actually warm when the kids get it because its not cooked at 9 in the morning. The hot dogs and sausage are not green and pink. The food actually has steam coming off of it when it is served. I think you should be questioning what the hell the past lunch staff was thinking and serving your child. Kudos to the new elementary lunch staff. Dr. Dinklocker and the rest of the board are bigger idiots than I thought if they don't keep them there.

Nobody else gives two shits about the freaking cafeteria food or the workers!! We care about our children's education!! It's been the same for the last 50 years...cafeteria food sucks and the workers are mean!! Are they really?? Probably not, but like I said before...who cares!! Education is what matters. So, with that being said, why don't you cafeteria workers go back to school, get an education, get a real job where you don't have time to play pretend on the internet and embarrass yourselves anymore than you already have!! Reading all this garbage about a teacher's husband that has nothing to do with her and all the cafeteria crap that sounds crazy. I checked out the buckeyeinstitute.org website and see what all these people are making for a yearly salary. The teacher has an amazing income, so no matter what happens in her life I think she can support herself and for the people with the food service assignments, hopefully you have other income because that is definately poverty level.
I'm definately voting NO for any more school levies for Mogadore, these people do NOT need any raises.

Hmmmm.......This is going to be hilarious when I print all of these ridiculous posts and show the school board members and the community what kind of assholes our school hires and they want a levy in November. Cut your losses and realize that you are putting children at risk by cohabiting with a level III sexual predator.

    3. I know my family that all lives in Mogadore, will be voting NO for the levy.
We are open-enrollment from another district and my children cannot get on an empty school bus at a family members Mogadore house because they are open-enrollment. This makes absolutely no sense to us, if they are at Grandmas's house or an aunt or uncle's house before or after school, we have to make arrangements for a pick up at school, even though the bus stops right in front of most of these houses. Mogadore needs to cut bussing like Field did for High School students or in all reality cut bussing totally, the town is only 3 square miles, do we really need bussing in such a small town, NO

      Delete
    4. NO WAY FOR THE LEVY!!

      Delete
    5. I pick my kids up everyday at the High School due to non-bussing for our open-enrollment, they want to take the money they get per open-enrollment student, but you can't ride the bus. Go figure!! The three busses that are at the High School aren't even full, the first one has an aid on it, not even full and the other two busses maybe have 8-10 students on an average. I see it with my own eye when I'm there everyday because I leave work early so I don't have to put any of my family members responsible for picking up my children. So, with all that in mind my family will be voting NO for the levy, the teachers make a great amount of money for working practically 1/2 of a year, I definately went to college for the wrong degree, should of been a teacher.

TAXPAYERS DO YOUR RESEARCH and you will see the truth.

And to the person above... oh so true. I don't know how many times, my jr/sr high school students have told me about the internet usage of our teachers or how we educate our children by showing them movies. According to the original newspaper articles in January, he served this community for 14 years and had an unblemished police record. I read the trial briefs and final verdict on the Portage County Clerk of Courts website. It is NOT against the law to be drunk in your own home, and according to the castle doctrine, he had every right to defend himself and his property. When he repeatedly told John Josef and Kevin Booth to leave his home, why on earth did they refuse? Foolish. I think it is awful that he and his family have had to go through all of this. Unfortunately, Mogadore lost a great police officer.

Peoples personal lives have nothing to do with their performance at school unless in some way it will harm children or staff. This town seems more interested in gossip and money. People should take care of and stand behind their community members, not tear them down. In regards to the schools, it seems like the biggest worry is money, not education. Lets start open enrollment so we can get more money. Lets get these kids on IEP's so we can get more money. Lets pass ANOTHER levy so we can get more money. Maybe we need to elect school board members, superintendents and staff that care more about the children and their education than padding the pockets of the school district and themselves. SMDH. 74. I will be voting on November 5th with a NO vote. The school Board needs to learn how to handle the finances more carefully to be able to run the school system. They are always wanting more and more money and do less and less work. Well, being a retired homeowner I cannot afford more taxes because Social Security doesn't pay that well for me to live on from month to month. They aren't going to give me a big raise in order to pay my property taxes. Learn how to stretch that dollar like so many of us elderly have done over the years and also those that may have lost their job and the income just isn't what it used to be. I suggest the school system start making some cuts somewhere such as busing for the high school students would be a good start. It is safe to assume that most of the high school students are in walking distance or have a drivers license and they drive themselves. Taking a look back in yearbooks from the 60's looking at the parking lot then and looking at it now where most of these kids are driving cars that are pretty darn fancy for a high school kid. This isn't some rich community although some think it is because of what ever their status may be in this gossip little town. Tighten up those belts and stretch your dollars because we as tax payers have had enough of your wreckless spending.

    2. Michelle HigginsSat Nov 09, 12:46:00 AM

Well I have sat here long enough reading this crap. How does it effect the tax payers when a person retires. Didnt he work and pay into his retirement. He worked a long time for Mogadore Locacl School and did a great job. And the children loved him. Who are you to say what age is to young for a person to retire. And a far as his girlfriend, let me tell you the story and blow your mind. I Michelle Higgins, was the first cook for O.H. Somers elem. I worked for the school for 10 years. And yes his girlfriend worked with me and also one other lady that was forced to resign. We loved working their because of the kids. The 3 of us would pay for debits out of our own pockets and made sure ALL the students had something to eat. Something most people dont know is that the government requires schools to serve 5 components to a meal. Milk, Protein, Grain, Fruit and Vegetable. And as long as a student takes 3 of the 5 components, the school can claim it as a reimbursable meal. Which means the school gets paid a certain amount for meals served. Each meal is reimbursable at different amounts because of free lunches, reduced lunches and full price lunches. This money comes in the form of commodity dollars, which is then used to buy commodities from the government. Kind of like food stamps. So this is where the story starts. In Oct. of 2012 we had a employee from the high school cafeteria come to the elementary to sub. She then went back to the high school and told, who knows, everyone? That we were claiming milk, fruit and vegetable as a meal. Which we were, because our previous supervisor had. We all thought that this was proper procedure. I guess it was not. Now instead of our supervisor coming to us to tell us that we were not aloud to claim meals this way, she and the school decided to wait until March of 2013 and have someone come into the school from Ohio Department of Education and evalute us, knowing all along we were not claiming meals correctly. The ODE wrote us up and charged the school for the meals that we claimed wrong. So the school used this against the other two ladys to force them to resign. Its funny, you would think that if a supervisor knew you were doing something wrong they would take care of it immediately and not wait 5 months to call in someone to get you in trouble. Seems like this was the plan all along. I would have been forced to also, but I had already resigned because of the treatment that I had recieved during the school year. One example of that treatment: I had been making out the menu most of the year and had put on Hungry Howies Pizza as a lunch. We had been serving it the past 2 years. The day I served the pizza we had a meeting after lunch telling me that I was no longer aloud to place orders from anyone or I would be responsible for paying for it. Well 2 weeks later I recieved a letter saying I was responsible for paying for the pizza from Hungry Howies. The school made money and we had over 300 students eat lunch that day. I went to Hungry Howies and talked to the manager and he said that if the school didnt pay he would just right it off. Not sure if it ever got paid. So this is our side of the story. Take it or leave it. People will believe what they want.

They don't have any education background, so I wouldn't have had a problem. In all actuality, its just a popularity contest anyhow. It's no wonder they needed to propose a levy. I would though, like to salute the teachers and staff who truly care about the education of our youth. It's a shame there are so very few of you. 79. Thank you residents for voting this levy down once again and hopefully in the future you will vote it down again. I think we are all sick and tired of the taxes we are paying to live in this little village of EVERYONE KNOWS YOUR BUSINESS. It is about time that it has come to where the school system has to get off of their high hog attitude and start making some cuts. So get rid of a couple teachers and make the class rooms a little larger. Do we really need all the bodies that the school system employes? This is a village not a city. The teachers in this school system want the paycheck and all the benefits but really it is the parents of the students that spend as much time with their child after school in mountains of homework because the teachers aren't doing their job during school hours. The teachers claim they haven't gotten a raise in several years other than cost of living, well cost of living is a raise and they should be darn thankful they get that because so many other companies haven't even been doing that. These teachers in this school system need to realize we as a country are in poor shape and it will only get worse before it gets better so they need to figure out that greed isn't going to get them very far. As far the school board members and what kind of education they have I don't know but it seems to me that they should be required to have some college education to be able to hold the position. It is getting to be more and more in the work force that a high school education isn't enough.

You will, as stated above, be allowing "outsiders", "those kind of people", "the kind of kids that will lower your ratings", etc. etc. etc. And, those of you who do leave? Report, report, report!! IEP'S, if not abided by....oh the $ that will be owed back to the state!!!! Get a life Mogadore, get over yourselves! With the poverty level through the roof in this "quaint lil village", the high and mighty attitudes from a bunch of "hill jack's" is astonishing, LOLOLOL

      Sincerely,

A Mogadorian for 15 years too long!!!!

  81. Go ahead and start allowing all these 100 children on the waiting list - its a shame that they would want them instead of Mogadore community children. Oh wait, they bring in more money don't they?? How fitting. You obviously are one of the kool-aid drinkers.....Well ya saw what happened to them didn't ya. And the $15 per month was only for the first year, take a look at everything after that. Bring on the changes - like I said, this school system is on a downward spiral that will end badly.

    1. wow how could one person be so dumb. Lets start with the downward slide comment. Fact: Test scores have risen the last few years. Comment: its a shame...Open enrollment children only are admitted after ALL residents enroll.
      DUH.....

    2. Mogadore is no doubt on a downward slide, just sit back, wait, watch, and listen. There are too many individuals here now that have the power to report the wrong doings. The same wrong doings that have occurred here for over 30 years. I'm not at all for this, but, have heard too many outsiders will be the demise of our town. Sad but I believe true. We need to quit giving intelligent, knowledgeable, and fierce opponents fuel for their fires. If, as a village, you all aren't worried, I, no doubt, am!! Go Wildcats!!

    3. Lol......."DUH"???? Really? If that's an acknowledgement of the intellect left in this town, WE'RE DOOMED!!

  82. I don't have a dog in this fight but...........Everyone school district has tax levies. Tallmadge just had one on the ballot, Field did, Springfield just passed one for a new school. The point is where ever you live or move to there are school taxes. Mogadore taxes are comparable to all surrounding districts. The question is do you want a school system or not. If not then board it up and send the kids to another school district. You all sound like Mogadore is unique and no other school has money problems but them, only their teachers are over paid, only their school board are uneducated. Seriously, if you are that unhappy move somewhere else and find out its the same way everywhere. Until the state changes the way they fund schools and take pressure off the homeowners, it will continue. I guess you can always move to Akron I'm sure their taxes are lower the yours.

    1. To clear up the story on the boyfriend on Williams, yes he did take an early retirement with 31 years of service, which was OFFERED by the school for a reduction in force in his department and to help VILLAGE taxpayers reduce cost. By him accepting this he saved jobs in his department, By the way this boyfriend and girlfriend do own several properties within the VILLAGE of Mogadore and they do pay property taxes on their properties that do help support the schools. Do you own here and pay taxes here, PROBABLY NOT!

  86. I've been noticing some activity at the old golf course in town. Lots of pick-up trucks and a U-Haul. Having not heard anything about a sale of this piece of land, and how awful it's looked, I keep waiting for something to be announced.
    Amybody got anything?

    1. I think they sold the wood from the bowling alley i live real close and thats what it looked like i saw them wheeling out to the trucks

  87. Why did the school buses pick up kids knowing the power was out at both schools. No heat or electric for over 2 hrs, ( not knowing how long it could be out ). Ever heard of a 2 hr delay !!!

    ReplyDelete
  88. I heard it was sold to an
    assisted living company.

  89. Who bought the golf course and how much?

  90. Whatever is going on with Mogadore Country Club is happening behind the scenes and under the radar. The for-sale signs are gone, and the property has been taken off some real estate sites. The fact that nothing has been announced makes me
suspicious. I hope the Wests and the local officials don't screw us.

  92. Well, it has been a little over a year since the pedophile married to Mindy Smith, k-5 teacher at Mogadore schools has been in Belmont prison for attempted rape of a 9 year old girl. Gene and Tony Smith of Smith Plumbing, Clint Walker and John King of ESP services and Mike Wohlwend of Wohlwend construction continue to work off the bills and debt for this man and woman. Mindy continues to teach. The school system continues to hide. Many want to defend the wifes' role in this situation but I seem to think I know what my significant other has going on in our relationship. How How How could she not know and condone his depravity. How can these others walk upright knowing where there efforts are going??? I would hide in shame for any association with the Smiths or others involved. What of the other affairs with 17 and 18 year olds that Mindy has excused her husband for? If you doubt it ... ASK HER!!! She is not capable of teaching what is important to our kids!

    1. And you have the right to judge? Keep perpetuating ignorant accusations against an innocent woman who has done NOTHING!! I'd say this is slander and defamation of character just to name a few! (Can't hide behind "Anonymous") :-)

      Delete
    2. Character was in defamation mode the minute a man married to a k-5 mogadore teacher was imprisoned for attempted rape of a minor, that of whom was a 9 yr.old girl!!! You are ignorant of the sense of innocense! Mayhaps a low self esteem keeps a person here? Get your friend teacher some help instead of enabling her to teach low self esteem to our children! If not she will teach that there are no moral nor ethical stands that are worth taking because of her own situation! This still doesnt make her innocent!

      Delete
    3. How ignorant is it for you people to defend this woman? What is going to happen when he gets out? This is a sickness for which there is no cure!

  93. Mogadore School Board bought the house next to the high school for parking.

    1. Rumor has it that Dinklocker may be moving into it, hopefully that is just rumor, she would be ran out of town so fast, she needs to stay in Hinckley with the ol' buzzards. Wake up school board!

    2. You people are nuts, lol. I think Dinklocker is smart enough to NEVER make the move into Mogadore. Again, IDIOTS!! :-) And really curious how in the hell you "Mogadorians" think you can run somebody out of town....have you ever been successful in doing this before?? Who in the hell do you people think you are....your poverty level is through the roof, most of you live in "itty bitty" little houses on top of each other, yet act like you're an "elite" community.....you are a JOKE!!!!!!!! I get on here just to laugh periodically, THANK YOU MOGADORE!!!!!

  94. Every other school closed today except Mogadore.....seriously???? Instead of worrying about your summer vacations think about your students!! Ridiculous.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Read the school bell. Dinklocker is putting the levy up again thinking it going to pass when they just bought the house next to the school? What ever happen to taking away the busing after the first of the year? Just a bunch of bullshit. Why don't she take a pay cut if their hurting that bad?

    ReplyDelete
  96. Dinklocker is part of that better than thou group of the education hierarchy. I have even called to inquire of this teacher-child rapist situation but she abruptly states it is of a teachers personal life and is not to be discussed. The last I looked these were our kids being subjected to this teacher and all of her personality. Is it healthy for our kids to be exposed to this situation? Why cant a meeting be called and invite the community to express our views on this and other Dinklocker decisions???

    ReplyDelete
  97. I, too, would have to say that this Smith teachers' character is in question along with the decisions of the school. Slander? Call the spade a spade and it is slander? I don't get this liberal verbage that makes every thing okay if no one cares or knows about it. If these other companies are helping to promote a wrong then they too should be held up for scrutiny as they would expect us to allow them into our homes should construction concerns arise. I personally would not contact any of the above mentioned for work at my home around my family. How can the school allow this teacher to teach for the same reasoning? It is a bunch of bull ! Mogadore schools is going downhill fast!

    ReplyDelete
  98. Fire this woman for the actions of her husband!! I dare you, lol.....you people are idiots!!

  99. So at a meeting there was a comment made from an individual in a high up position in the school system that said..."These people in mogadore have had it to easy!" We need to take the buses away, shut down the school during the summer so there is no track inside the school and pay to play sports. Now how stupid is that! BEFORE! I say BEFORE a levy is to be voted on! It's like...I'm going to punish you before you make me mad by not voting for my levy. Duh! Now I'm mad!!!!! Watch how I vote!

    ReplyDelete
  100. I remember when a statement was made that said "Pass this levy for the new school which will save us money on heat and air conditioning and lighting and there will never be another levy!" I remember when Mogadore's Millage was 12.5 and Hudson's was 11 Mills I don't remember Hudson asking for anymore levys? What is the standing now? Are we richer than Hudson?

    ReplyDelete
  101. Now we're on the front page of the Beacon. Picture of the cars lined up by Somers because you are going to be taught a lesson for not passing the last levy. How do you like that Mogadore? I'm going to punish you because you can't afford anymore taxes. Or! Because you're on a fixed income! Tough! Or! You've had it too good! I'll show you!

    ReplyDelete
  102. Home schooling is the only way to go! They give you free computers, printers etc. Everything you need to learn. Most home schooled children are above average on their tests. Another plus is there is no bullying. Also you wont be shot, or ridiculed or shunned, laughed at, or have to keep up with styles of clothing, or hair do's, or your car if you drive. Now you don't have to drive! You can do your school work when ever you want! You graduate and get a degree just like anyone else! And! You can enroll into college earlier than public students. Think about it. Some day there will not be anymore schools. It costs to much!

    ReplyDelete
  103. I WILL NOT VOTE FOR THIS LEVY OR ANY FUTURE LEVIES. I CANNOT AFFORD IT!

    ReplyDelete
  104. I will not vote for the levy either! As long as the nepotism in this "good old boy God forsaken town" keeps going on, they can fund it themselves!

    ReplyDelete
  105. Do not vote for the levy. The school suck's. Horribly teaching

    ReplyDelete
  106. Dont for the levy..all her shit is lies.. She just want a bigger paycheck for herself and her teachers, Save your self and dont vote for the levy.

  107. I'm on a fixed income and I get no raise. My retirement is fixed and social s doesn't give raises that keeps up with the cost of living. I have to live on what I get. So... you should too. What do you work 190 days? 195? and you make 60, 65,000 a year? What's that? $315 a day? Live with it! Or! Sell your condo in Las Vegas!
